GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Personal Trainer provides one-on-one instruction to an individual or group of people
through a customized program tailored to their needs. The Personal Trainer develops individualized programs that
ensure client safety and achievement of personal fitness goals. The Personal Trainer must be able to recruit and retain
Current national Personal Trainer certification required.
Experience in developing personalized exercise programs for general populations and for people with specific
concerns (obesity, heart disease, arthritis, diabetes, etc.).
Minimum 1 year of experience in personal training instruction.
High school diploma or equivalent, with a college degree preferred.
Current CPR and First aid certification required.
Experience in conducting scientifically valid fitness assessments.
Must possess effective motivation and communication skills, interpersonal skills, and sales and marketing
Must be highly self-motivated and able to perform superior work without direct supervision.
Must be customer service oriented and able to work effectively with a diverse group of people.
