Join our Greater Cleveland YMCA team in living our cause and helping to provide quality, safe and healthy programs and services in our community.

The Warrensville Family YMCA is currently seeking an Aquatics Safety Coordinator. This person will be responsible for assisting with planning, managing, and implementing of all the Aquatics department safety programs. Our ideal candidate will be able to ensure day-to-day program operations are delivered in accordance with operating standards for quality and safety. Also, assisting in interviewing, scheduling and supervising qualified staff.

Pay Rate: $13.00


  • Builds effective and authentic relationships with participants and families.
  • Develops and maintain relationships with parent groups and other agencies related to aquatic safety program areas.
  • Conducts regular/ frequent sanitation of all equipment (rescue and member used), and assigned areas as outlined by leadership.
  • Supervises employees in assigned accountabilities, monitors program operations, schedules and verifies time sheets and actual hours worked.
  • Organizes, cleans and puts away, all program materials. Reports damaged materials and take them out of circulation. Responsible for pool maintenance.
  • Conduct monthly in-service training, monthly lifeguard and branch safety audits.


Education: High school diploma required; Associate degree preferred


  • Minimum of one (1) year of related experience working in aquatic programing
  • Minimum of one (1) year of aquatic instruction
  • Minimum of one (1) year supervisory experience preferred

Certification(s) and Requirements:

  • Current CPR/AED Pro, O2 Management, Current First Aid
  • Current Y lifeguarding or American Red Cross Lifeguarding, Instructor Certification required
  • Water Safety Instructor or YMCA Swim Instructor certification preferred


  • The ability to perform frequent amounts of sitting, standing, swimming, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, bending and or instructing others for the duration of their shift.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust.
